Darryl K. Simon (Smokey), 66, was born June 27, 1957 to Henry Simon and Eunice Simon in Gary, Indiana.
Darryl graduated from Roosevelt High School and after graduated from Indiana State University. While in attendance at Indiana State University, he became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. After college, Darryl moved to Houston, Texas where he and his wife settled and began growing their family and their new roots. Darryl was very proud to have worked many years with Spring ISD as the Director of Emergency Management and School Safety and retired as the Director of Investigations.
Darryl is a cherished figure in his community. He is a loving father, husband, grandfather, uncle, and a valuable friend to all who are fortunate to have known him. Darryl was a great listener and always provided sound and honest advice. He was true to his faith and always put God first.
Above all, Darryl most cherished his family. He strived to instill values such as love, hard work, respect and that family always comes first. He lived a blessed life and was a testament to the power of faith. His loss leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit, love, and strength will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Darryl is survived by his wife, Faith Simon, Darius Simon, son, Darryan Simon, daughter, Darryl Simon Jr (DJ) son and Sophia Young Cameron, sister.
