Here’s the current status and timeline of the sidewalk project:
- Some driveways currently on private property will be replaced and some sidewalks currently on private property will be removed and replaced on public property. The District will be reaching out to those impacted homeowners to obtain permission to perform the removal and replacement work. This process for obtaining permission will start in the month of August.
- Construction Plans have been submitted to Harris County Engineering and are currently under review.
- Construction Plans are expected to be approved by the end of September.
- The project will be publicly bid in October.
- Contract Award and execution is expected to occur in November.
- Construction is expected to start in January 2026 with a duration of 4-5 months.
